I had seen a lot of these in Hawaii in 1994, so when my previous pair of O'Neill trunks were getting worn I hunted these Katins down at Val Surf in Thousand Oaks, California. It had become almost impossible for a mature man to find trunks that didn't run down to the knees, so searching had become the norm for me. Val Surf has long been one of the best, most consumer-friendly surf shop "chains", and always seems to have something in stock for every taste.
