MODIFIED HYDROFOIL PAIPOS FEBRUARY 2003 ROGER WAYLAND |
I have modified my original craash and burn Paipo. I cut the wing size back substantially. This one is really wild to ride. As you go down the initial face you have to try and keep the balance in the back but at the same time not dump the nose. Remember, there is nothing up front but air. I am contemplating adding a stabilizer wing or two in the front for better balance. I am kind of learning the smaller wing design from the other Paipo so once I get that one down I will modify them and add it to this one. -Roger Wayland |
This is a Paipo using a tripod setup but using a minimal hydro wing size. The wings are foiled like an aircraft wing, and have a 2% angle life. I have had this out in the water and it seemed to ride good. I am still a little concerned that the wings will break in larger surf. They seem a little fragile. I am going to continue to revamp and modify this one. - Roger Wayland |
