VENTURA HARBOR GALLERY
(Above) A Summer view
It gets a little different in Winter.
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, the Winter surf would pound these shores after heavy rains had filled in sandbars in the entrance to this harbor. Those with keen interest used to take off in front of the South Jetty (left in the photos) and ride into the harbor. This was just about the time when the surf leash came into being, although these rock-strewn coasts were holdouts against that invention.
