| PIER SURF |
| Piers are great places to get lost in your head. Water textures, seabreeze, smells of bait and greasy fried food, the odor of sunscreen on passing people, the stench of beer (later), distant surf, and the heaving motion of a solid swell right under your feet. When you get in the water your attention becomes much more immediate. There isn't much time to space out on the details. Gotta hustle, man; gotta get your share. Take a walk on a pier sometime, especially when the surf is up. |
