| ONE OF THOSE WEEKS |
| A sudden attack of Spring Fever seems to have hit the offices of vagabondsurf.com this past week. The deadlines have been heavier than usual, both personally and professionally. To top it off, I have jury duty this week, which makes planning anything impossible. I have some new photos to scan, and the entire "Surf Industry" series to write. I even have that series outlined. My problem with it has been this recent spate of excellent summer-like weather in my part of Southern California. I really don't feel like thinking about "the industry" at the moment. I can't look at another surf magazine, either. I'm thinking I might have to mothball the Surf Media section for a while. I have a lawn to salvage, a sprinkler system to finish restoring, a million and one other chores to do, and now the sun is out and a spurt of South and Southwest Swells are coming my way...which means that on top of the house and yard and personal fun stuff I should be out of the office and accumulating material to keep you entertained at home or work. And jury duty... So, my personal rant level is way down, and the kick-back response says grab a beer, make the call, take a book if I have to go to the courthouse (I have the Weisbacker book ready ), and hit the beach when the free time allows. I actually counted the number of summer weekends we have - something like 15 - and that should give us time to Do What We Do. The key thing is to remember - it's supposed to be fun. It's about life - not "lifestyle". More new content coming this week. |
